We want you to absolutely enjoy your Drone flying experience and hope this Drone Flyers Guide will help you achieve that aim.
The first thing we recommend is that you study your user manual. This is most important and whether you are a relative beginner or an experienced Drone Flyer you should never fly any craft without doing so. No two are exactly the same so spend some time with the manual, Drone and transmitter learning about the functionality.

Hold the transmitter in your hands and check out all the controls and if your Drone is flown by a Smartphone App find your way around the App. Refer to the manual when you have a spare minute, take it with on a journey and learn all that is in it. Read this Drone Flying Guide over and over again.

Lost in Translation then use Google

Some of the manuals that come with Low Priced Drones that are traditionally manufactured in China can sometimes be difficult to understand. Many of them being badly translated into English so if you are unsure of any details or technical information use Google, it is simply the best search tool available.
Unboxing reviews and setting up instructions available for nearly every Quadcopter produced. These are done by industry professionals who spend hours each day evaluating these unmanned aerial vehicles and are an excellent source of information for any Drone Flyer.

Watch the YouTube videos from SeBy Docky or read his reviews over on RC Groups you won’t find any better. Read our reviews on the Drone Flyers website they will guide you in the right direction and help you avoid any of the fundamental errors often experience by beginners.

Make sure your propellers have been correctly installed otherwise your Drone will not fly and attach the propeller protectors if available.

Get ready for your first Drone flight

When you are ready for you first take off always and we repeat always be mindful of your surroundings. Never fly in close proximity to other people and pets. The propellers on even the smallest model spin extremely fast and can inflict damage to persons and property.

Safety is always of the utmost concern so fly low and fly slowly at first.

Never jerk the control sticks, tease them gently until you get accustomed to them. Like learning any new skill it takes time so be patient.

Practice makes perfect

Practice taking off and landing, don’t expect to get your Drone up in the air and zooming around your living room or garden on your first flight.

If space is limited or the weather is not favourable consider buying a small Nano or Micro Drone that can be flown indoors.

Flying your Drone outdoors

You should follow certain guidelines when flying outdoors. On a sunny day never fly directly into the sun always make sure it is behind you. Glaring sunlight can cause you to lose orientation of your Drone and even lose sight of it completely. Don’t let your Drone fly behind you keep it in sight.

If you are using First Person View and viewing the flight from a screen on your transmitter or Smartphone always have someone with you help. Chose the space you will be flying in and be aware of any obstructions like power cables your Drone may encounter.

Keep Calm and Relaxed

Try not to panic and if you are unsure of the orientation or the Drone starts behaving in an unnatural manner bring it down to land immediately. If the flying time is given at 8 minutes then set a timer and bring it back and down after 7 minutes.

Most Drones will give a warning when the battery is low by blinking led lights or a beeping on the transmitter. Try not to wait until this happens as your Drone may be a considerable distance away and discharging the batteries fully will shorten their life.

Crash Test

If you have a crash the always inspect your Drone where it has landed. Parts may have come dislodged so check your Quadcopter Drone carefully. Make sure the propellers haven’t been bent out of shape.

If you can’t tweak them back into shape replace them and make sure they spin freely. Some Drones and Quadcopters need recalibration after crashing so make sure you know the correct procedure to do this.
